Craig Leisy has been the Manager of the Consumer Affairs Unit for the City of Seattle for 15 years. Craig has served in this position since 1996 after retiring from a 23-year career as a commercial vessel safety regulator in the U.S. Coast Guard. The Consumer Affairs Unit is responsible for regulating both the taxicab industry and weights and measures in Seattle. The unit licenses more than 960 city and county taxicabs and for-hire vehicles; conducts safety inspections and taximeter tests on these vehicles; and conducts street enforcement activities.
