Fixing The Trains - Reform to RailCorp maintenance services:

Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian today announced planned changes to the ownership and operation of three RailCorp maintenance businesses at Bathurst, Strathfield and Taree. The changes are another step in the Government’s Fixing the Trains program, Ms Berejiklian said. “As RailCorp transitions to a customer-focused rail operator and maintainer, we have carefully considered the future of these three businesses, which are not part of this core function,” Ms Berejiklian said. Private sector engagement with both the Bathurst and Strathfield businesses will now be investigated, to better manage and potentially grow these businesses. The 54 staff at Bathurst and 32 staff at Strathfield will maintain employment terms and conditions under the 2010 RailCorp Enterprise Agreement.
