Rail staff to receive training on the best way to deliver clear, consistent and accurate announcements to customers.

Rail staff will attend radio school to work to eliminate muffled and incomprehensible announcements on trains and stations, Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian announced today. Tenders will be called this week for a new pilot program aimed at teaching rail staff the best way to deliver clear, consistent and accurate announcements to customers. Initially, more than 300 staff on the Illawarra Line (between the city and Waterfall, Cronulla) will attend the training and if successful the program will be rolled out more widely. “As part of Fixing the Trains, we are committed to improving customer service and the quality of information our customers receive,” Ms Berejiklian said. “Customers have made it clear that quality train and station announcements will make a real difference to their journey. “They want to know what stops are coming up next, when the next train is co...
